Located a mile away from the Edinburgh Castle, the Arthur’s Seat is the highest point of the hill at Holyrood Park. We hiked to the top of the hill which is around 250 meters above the seal level. And I must say the view of the city from the top is spectacular. If you love hiking, you will surely enjoy volcanic geology, rare wildlife and great views of the city from different vantage points along the way. Arthur’s seat is one of the four hill forts that are around 2000 years old. Did you know that this grass covered hill was formed by a volcanic eruption 350 million years ago? If you want to truly enjoy the beauty of Arthur’s seat, you will need at least two to three hours for your trip.
