Right after finishing our Thermodynamics final exam during 3rd year of Mechanical Engineering at McMaster University, we left for a road trip from Toronto to Virginia Beach. Did you know that Virginia Beach holds the Guinness Book world record for having the “longest stretch of pleasure beach”? We explored the 3 miles long white concrete boardwalk that showcases around 60 blocks of statues, stage for entertainment programs and lots of shops alongside the Atlantic Ocean. There is a huge cast bronze statue of the mythological god Neptune weighing around 12 tons located on the boardwalk at the entrance of Neptune Park. This 34 foot statue on the 31st street is one of the most popular tourist stops that cannot be missed if you go for a walk on the beach.
